Richard Sorge
Richard has been with PacRim since 2008. He began as a Property Manager and worked his way up to Broker/Owner, purchasing the company with Dean Des Lauriers in 2014. He believes this transition was possible due to the help and mentoring of his co-workers and clients, combined with his continued interest in learning and improving himself and the business.
Some of Richard's greatest strengths are communication, problem solving, generating creative business ideas and the ability to recognize other people's skillsets and talents. These qualities allow him to pair his colleagues with positions and situations that help them thrive both professionally and personally, in turn helping the company reach its goals of providing excellent customer service and a positive workplace culture. He is thankful everyday for having a great team in place.
In his free time Richard enjoys hiking and camping with German Shepherd, Mercury. He also has a love for playing darts and frequently attends dart tournaments throughout the state. Other interests include traveling, yoga and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.
Below are some highlights/designations for Richard
Dean DesLauriers
Dean has more than 15 years experience in condominium and homeowners association property management, and has considerable experience in working with developers in bringing new construction projects on-board. Dean is a broker associate with the State of Alaska, and a member of the National Association of Realtors. He is an active member of the Alaska Chapter of the Community Association Institute.
Dean has significant experience in capital project oversight, and he is committed to developing an expert team of association management professionals within PacRim Properties.
As an association manager, Dean's focus has been on building strong and lasting community relationships. He is a master at problem solving and negotiating solutions that work. His background in business, project management, contract negotiations, and customer service make him a key part of our company.
When not working Dean likes to spend time at his cabin on Lake Louise, boating, fishing, snowmachining and just enjoying the great outdoors. Those that know Dean know he is passionate about his hockey, which is not surprising being from Minnesota, which is known as The State of Hockey. He is a devoted fan to his Alma Mater, the UAA Seawolves, and the Minnesota Wild and continues to play in a men's league at the Subway Center hockey rink twice a week during the winter months.
Christine Caswell
I started in the Anchorage real estate industry back in the pre-historic 1999 by surprise. I remember thinking to myself one day, why waste my time on looking for jobs I know I can do, and instead, why not apply to a job I want to learn how to do (but never had any experience). So I found myself applying to an onsite property manager position advertised in a newspaper. A paper one!
Low and behold my risk turned out to be worth the reward. I stayed with that property as we practically doubled in size before moving on to commercial properties later in my career.
A hundred years have passed and by 2014 I am right back to my roots working with a full service brokerage here in Anchorage, PacRim Properties LLC.
Long story short, I am a lifer. With a trillion years of on boots on the ground experience (okay maybe not a trillion, but we can all agree that 1999 was a really long time ago). I spent a lot of time over the intervening years working the peripheral of the industry. Yet, at the end of the day I am still that person who applies myself to the jobs that require me to dig deep to reach a little higher.
Jeff Smodey
Over the last 31 years Jeff has been involved with all phases of property management, involving all types of property. Currently Jeff manages approximately 40 different structures ranging from large commercial buildings, 4-to-129-unit apartment complexes and some single-family homes. Having been an Alaskan resident for 45 years, Jeff is an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoys getting out of town and riding ATVs in Alaska's abundant wilderness. Jeff is a proud father of 3 and a diehard San Francisco 49ers fan.
Cedric Burden
Cedric has worked in the real estate industry since 2005. As the Association Department Manager, he uses his experience in real estate for the benefit of his clients and has been a real estate manager since 2011. Cedric has lived in Alaska since 2002 and enjoys the long summer days Alaska provides. Cedric loves having fun such as riding his motorcycle, traveling the world and trying new things.
Noah Hammett
Noah joined the PacRim team in 2019 as an assistant to our senior property management team, Noah has become a property manager in his own right. Noah's professionalism and knowledge makes him one of best property managers out there.
Jon LaPrise
Jon LaPrise joined the team in 2020 and has been a go to person for finding the right home for every client. No matter if you are planning to rent, buy, sell, or looking for a home for your business, Jon is an expert on helping you find your space.
